PEPTIQ LABS GUIDE

Quality & Testing

Learn about Certificates of Analysis (COAs), batch information, purity testing, and why product documentation is an important part of laboratory research.

THE BASICS

Why Quality Matters

Quality documentation helps researchers better understand the products they are working with. Information such as batch numbers, Certificates of Analysis (COAs), and product specifications can provide additional confidence when reviewing research materials.

Before beginning laboratory research, take a moment to review the available documentation and confirm that it matches the product label and batch information.

COMMON TERMS

Understanding Quality Terms

Here are a few common terms you may come across when reviewing research product documentation.

Certificate of Analysis (COA)
A document that summarizes available testing information and product specifications for a particular product or batch.
Batch / Lot Number
A unique identifier used to trace a specific production batch. This information should match the product label whenever possible.
Purity
The percentage of the intended compound identified during laboratory testing. Purity is one part of the overall product documentation.
Testing Method
The laboratory technique used to analyze the sample. Different testing methods may be used depending on the product and laboratory.
QUALITY CHECKLIST

Before Reviewing Documentation

Use this checklist when reviewing product documentation for laboratory research.

Review the Certificate of Analysis If available, confirm the COA corresponds to the product you are reviewing.
Verify the Batch Number Confirm the batch or lot number matches the information shown on the product label.
Review the Reported Purity Read the reported purity together with the rest of the testing information.
Check Supporting Documentation Review any additional documentation provided with the product before beginning laboratory research.
